Ride Your Horse on The Grange

General Information for Riding The Grange

 

We are on The Grange at 211 Ashley Gorge Road, Oxford. Our farm is open to people who are keen to ride unaided. We are NOT providing a guided trek. Rather, a place for you to ride where you feel comfortable. We can provide a map if needed. Casual rate is $20/rider/day, Annual Pass is $150 (contact us for more info)

 

Please note, this is a working farm. This involves stock, gates, workers, bush, beehives, scrub, electric fences, and variation in tracks.

 

The farm is over 500hectares of rolling to steep hill country and has mainly formed and some cattle tracks. There is gravel up the first part, approx 2km then grass tracks. There are places to ride alongside the gravel track if you prefer grass. You are welcome to ride where you feel comfortable, apart from the airstrip. You are welcome to head out to the Back Hut and stop for lunch (This can be booked for overnight stays). The steepness varies- the first 2km goes up a few hundred metres and then it goes along ridgelines. You are most welcome to come out and have a look first before you book. 

 

Please;

 

*No dogs, fires or smoking on our property.

 

 

*If you have Hi-Viz wear, we encourage you to wear this for your own safety.

 

*Each person must sign in on arrival and departure. The wooden sign in box is labelled Visitor Info, and is located on the workshop wall (in the yard after the 2nd cattlestop). This is for your health and safety, and our records. In doing this, you are acknowledging you have read and understood the Hazard Register also located in the wooden box.

 

*Any significant injuries which occur on our property must be recorded in an Incident Report.
